If library material is not returned, three courtesy overdue notices are mailed.  These will be the only notices sent prior to the posting of a debt (bill for material replacement).  Debts are posted after material is 45 days overdue.  Failure to receive an overdue notice, debt notice, or other collection notices does not remove responsibility for paying associated fines and fees.

Vary by item type; however, a grace period is applied.

 

When the material has not been returned within forty-five (45) days after the due date, the borrower will be charged a $5.00 debt fee plus replacement cost of the material.  The replacement cost will be waived if the material is returned; however, the $5.00 fee per item will not be waived.  Fees are determined by the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board. Unpaid debts are collected by the Arizona Department of Revenue.
