Use databases to find full text articles in scholarly journals and popular magazines as well as newspapers.
To access databases from off campus, click the Off-Campus Access link at the end of each entry.
You will need to have a valid SMCC ID card which you can obtain in the Student Services Building at the main campus. Bring your ID card to the Library Circulation Desk so that it can be validated. Use the 13-digit barcode on the back of the ID card and your pin, usually the last four digits of your home phone number, to access databases from off campus.
If you have a Blackboard account, databases are also available under the Library Resources tab.
Troubleshooting Off-Campus Access
If your ID and pin are valid and you are unable to log into a database remotely, try the following:
- Delete cookies
- Verify that your browser settings accept cookies
It is possible that your virus protection software has a firewall that is preventing access. You may need to temporarily turn off your internet security software while you search the databases.
